Well Predicted!

After a season of woes and regrets, it’s good to finally see a winner in the hoops.  And we have to look to one of our own for it.

“Liverpoolcelt” – the distant legend that contributes to the club’s affairs, Tic Talk in particular, has taken the top spot in the Carluke Shamrock Predictor League, pipping Vincenzo to the post.  Well done girl!

And well done to those who took part for a bit of fun.  The committee have confirmed that the winner’s prize will be discussed at the AGM.

AGM

Remember, that this Thursday 20th May is the club’s AGM.  The committee will reporting on all financial and club matters of the season gone, and plans ahead.

The meeting starts at 7:30pm in the St.Athanasius C0mmunity Hall.

Day Oot!

One of the agenda points for Thursday night’s AGM will be organising the Shamrock Season End Day Oot on Saturday (22nd May).  Make sure you’re at the AGM to book your place on the bus, which will take us into the fabled East End for some casual cultural excursions around the bars that lean to the green side.

Come along for the ‘craic and the Glesga’ banter.  By all means, use the event to release your frustrations and anger of the woeful season passed.  Shotts will be conducting counselling sessions on the bus on a 1st come 1st served basis – all consultations are strictly confidential.  :-)

Celtic may have failed us a club and a team, but as The Real Celtic, we can come together as our Shamrock brotherhood and raise a glass together, to brighter futures (and further financial announcements from across the river).

Yours in Celtic,
Richard

Radio Stars

Carluke Shamrock welcomed James Hunter from Glasgow MET to Carluke on Thursday night, where James held some personal interviews with some of our club members.

James is compiling a radio documentary on the theme of the Old Firm and contacted our club to interview some of our club characters about their love of all things Celtic in the world of football.

However, our club patrons such good material that James now believes he has enough audio recordings to actually break the interviews across two different radio documentary programmes – one on the Old Firm in general, and another specifically focusing on the recent Tony Mowbray era, which he is currently editing with some football journalists.

Watch this space to hear some of our club’s great characters hit the airwaves…

AGM

With the season drawing to an end, there’s some formal and informal Shamrock business to take care of.

The club’s AGM will be held in St.Athanasius Community Hall on Thursday 20th May, starting at 7:30pm

All members and prospective members are invited to attend, to hear reports from the Committee and vote on matters moving the club forward.

Shamrock In Town

The club is gathering members and heading into town for an end-of-season day out on Saturday 22nd May.

A bus will be put on, to take members into town and round the celebrated Celtic bars of Glasgow’s East End, for some drinks and good ‘craic.

Be at the AGM on the Thursday beforehand, to register your place on the bus and find out all the details for the day out.

Our supporters club have received the attached letter from MacMillan Nurses, thanking us for the donation of £1,100 that was raised at the Willie McLean Memorial Night.

Give yourself a pat on the back; you’ve done the club proud, you’ve done Willie’s name proud, and you’ve helped a great charity!

Yours in Celtic,
Richard
