The on-field antics of Celtic FC can sink to the lowest of the low, but you can never top the behaviour of the club’s supporters when they get going – especially at Carluke Shamrock!
Friday 5th February 2010 brought the chance to raise a glass to our departed brother and friend – the legendary Willie McLean – and what a night was had!

A well run night in St. Athanasius Community Hall was expertly serviced yet again by the bar and catering staff. Drinks flowed, memories shared, laughs had, and the place rocked to top notch musical acts. And there was an army of people that got involved in Willie’s memory.
Chief organiser and the night’s MC – David Swan – passed on his thanks to brother Richard for designing the tickets, and Mary Arnott for printing them.
Many thanks go to Claire and James Fisher for dealing with ticket sales – the night being completely SOLD OUT of course! – and Jim Sanderson for door duties. James Gray did a great job organising some excellent raffle prizes; thank you to everyone that donated a prize.
When it came to the music, the night couldn’t be beaten!
Jim McIntyre kindly donated the Karaoke equipment for the amateurs to do their bit. Meanwhile some fantastic acts – including Favours, Charlie Brown, The Flow, and also David, Tommy & Barry – took to the stage and ensured that everyone there had a fantastic night.
So how do you top that? Easy! In memory of Willie, all of his friends and family dug deep and produced an incredible £1,100 donation to the MacMillan Nurses! Outstanding!
Well done to all involved.
Yours in Celtic,
Richard

Another wee group that’s making the right sound over and over again – St. Ignatius Loyola would be proud of them
